I ran an AVG scan and a virus was found that could not be quarantined in C:\Program Files\Clear Search\LOADER.exe. Nor could I manually delete the virus. So what can I do? I am a bit of a novice at this so could someone give me the basics in order to rectify the problem. Thank you very much.

I would do another scan from http://us.pandasoftware.com Scroll down the homepage and on the left hand side you will see the active scan box. If a virus is detected Panda has some excellent removal tools to solve your problem if one is detected.

I would try http://www.srnmicro.com/ and try a trial version of SOLO.

You have the Backdoor.Ruledor trojan on your system. I just had to remove it from a computer. It rebooted whenever you tried to delete the file from program files.

Here is how to remove it.

Go to the START and select RUN

type MSCONFIG

select enter.

Search for an entry containing this text:

ISTSVC.exe

If it is there, this will help you remove it.

First off as long as you leave the window alone that says it is on your computer, you should be able to work around it. If you close it, shortly the computer reboots.

You will need to download two programs.

Spybot S & D
and
Hijack This

Then go here to finish removal:

If you follow those directions it works. I was able to remove it.

After, to keep it out, download a good firewall (I recommend Outpost), a good antivirus, and keep it updated, and get the registered version of Ad-Ware from www.lavasoft.com. When you install Adware, a program called adwatch will have an icon on your desktop. Put it in the startup folder in your menu and that should help. Also, keep all updated for the latest. And last, a good antivirus program. I recommend AVG at www.grisoft.com.

Good luck!

It is targeted AdWare from ClearSearch, this is their removal tool.
