Heyy...
I got a virus in my pc a few days back...Using Spybot Search & Destroy and Kaspersky i removed most of it but i still have a few problems remaining:
a) 'Virus Alert!' sign in taskbar...along with military time!
b) C & D drives cannot be read!
Please help me out!

I recieved your PM but I an not at my computer so I do not have access to my database.
If you want to follow the direction at one of the "Fake Alert" post do this:
1. Run Malwarebyte per the instructions and be sure to do step 6 after the scan runs.
2. Post a Hiajck This log.

I'd already removing some files using HijackThis another site before landing on this one...
My current HijackThis log is:
Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from one of these sites:
Be sure to follow the directions in step 6 after the scan has finished.
1. Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
2. Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
3. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
4. Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
5. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
6. Make sure that everything found is checked, and click Remove Selected.
7. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

9. Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Will post the Malwarebyte Log as soon as i finish the scan...
There is one more thing i wanted to ask...During this time is it safe to surf the Internet normally?

I added Malwarebyte...Went as per you said...But it said it found PRO version...And now its showing that its updating but its stuck at 'Looking for MalwareSupport.com'...

Just exit the program by clicking the x at the top right of your screen.
Or go to task manager (ctrl, alt, delete) click mbam.exe to highlight> click end process.
Then just run malware bytes.

Mate...I guess the malwarebyte removed some important file from windows because my comuter is not booting...it says that i need to register myself with widows because my key is incorrect!
Am currently using my friends PC...And i had absolutely no idea how big a s--- i would land myself into by downloading those stupid codecs!

It was not Malwarebytes. The virus had just ran to long before you got help.I have seen these baddies render a computer useless on several occasions.

Sorry to hear about this mate.
Do you >>>SQUEEZE<<< Your PC?

Heyy again...
I got my comp fixed but there are still some trojan viruses showing when i run Kaspersky...What to do?
And earlier when the virus infected my PC i had Xp Home edition on my computer...And i have installed Xp professional now...I tried getting rid of the home edition by formatting the drive but it said that windows could not complete the formatting...I tried removing it manually and again it could not be finished as it said that the drive is protected...I desperately need help because i dont want my PC going kaput again!

For the formatting issue please post on the XP forum. Once you get that resolved start a new thread, state only the problem. No logs please until requested.
