as most of you probably found out...nod32 is simply the best antivirus scanner around period, no other cailms more awards or 100% detection rate since they came out years and years ago. with that in mind most you probably dont know that nod32 also detection trojans invalid/harmful scripts so heres what u need to know to be fully protected. a few ways to setup your scanner for trojan infection detection
1. in a standard windows os enviroment startup..nod32 monitor should be in your icon tray next to your time.. by default nod32 is set to standard scan rate for increase speed and quickness of scan.
but if u know u got a problem..click on setup on all these. amon, dmon and set them both to deep scan, list all files, all files extentison.2. eset nod32 as also included these properties in nod32 just under imon......click in depth analysis
fine product and i shall use no other paid antivirus
goodluck and hope u peps learn something
:)vk101

Actually, Norton and McAfee have much higher detection rates.
...I don't know where you keep getting these made-up numbers from...

NOD32 expands its record of being the only antivirus system in the world that has not missed a single “In The Wild” virus, in the comprehensive testing conducted by the industry’s leading authority, the Virus Bulletin. This record is over six years old and growing!
Of the ten (10) products tested, NOD32 was only one of two with all samples detected on both on access and on demand scanning, with no false positives. In addition, NOD32's scanning rate of the executable files was almost twice as fast of the other product with 100% detection and up to six times faster than some of the other products tested.
Eset, a global provider of next generation virus protection , today announced that Microsoft renewed its corporate license to use NOD32 anti-virus software in its release labs. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Microsoft's release labs have been using NOD32 to scan for viruses and worms.
Let the facts speak for themself.

Viruskiller101, you are right, Nod32 is the best AV out in my opinion..
BlueRaja: have you tried Nod32 ? I think you should try it,and then you mught get another opinion about Nod32. As for Norton and McAfee, they are not that good of an Anti Virus, they both can take over your computer and they both are blote ware..

Yes, I have tried it, and I have found that it *does* have trouble finding certain viruses: particularly, it missed a few worms on some of my client's computers, and didn't find or clean *any* of the viruses stored in the system-restore files - I have an extremely hard time believing that any test that wasn't rigged could give it one-hundred per-cent... Also, AMON's heuristics keep mistaking my CPU-Idle for a "probable virus" (and, in the tests, NOD32 had the highest false-positive rate, contradicting your claims..).
However, I *do* use NOD32, despite its lower detection rates (see my previous link). A full system scan is usually 3-5+ times faster than any other decent anti-virus, and having AMON running in the background takes up almost no system resources at all (compare this to Norton, where having auto-protect enabled renders your computer virtually useless...which is why I use Norton with auto-protect disabled).
Final note: NOD32 and Norton are the only antiviruses I recommend to my customers (although the article I linked rated PC-cillin as a "best buy", I've had a lot of trouble with the program in the past...); Norton, for those who simply use their computer to e-mail and use Word/Excel, and don't need to extra resources or speed; NOD32 for everyone else.AKhalifman@hotmail.com

for those not makeing their own opinions about software, the orginial post for intened for nod32 users. to use deep scan for detection of trojan/scripts. this is in setup of nod32 active monitor
to answer the second post, blueaja or someone nod32 is the best av software period, i dont have to defend nod32 u just log on to the website and read up if u can, i can see your a die hard norton user so u keep useing that bloated software. u never see norton claim that they have 100% detection rate of in the wild viruses. i done so many tests and seen so many av fail at detecting viruses, nod32 is only one i can trust.

"i[sic] dont[sic] have to defend nod32 u just log on to the website and read up if u can, i[sic] can see your[sic] a die hard norton user so u keep useing[sic] that bloated software."
-...Did you even *read* my post?
I never said I was a diehard Norton fan; truth be told, I'd rather not use it if I didn't have to. However, facts are facts (facts, of course, being reliable tests combined with documented results; this is opposed to your unjust convictions and random claims of supremacy), and Norton *does* have the highest rate of virus-detection (and personal experience backs that up).
So please, next time, read the posts before you try to debate them with your prattling and libel.AKhalifman@hotmail.com

my orginal post isnt for debate period, it was for users of nod32 to setup for more detection/deep scans
your so stuck on disproveing peps, that if u actually took the time to study and use the software u might have a different view point, rather than voice your negative points of view which no one here wants to see nor read, so heres some tips to better improve your people skills.
1. post helpful information for peps not express negative viewpoints and respect other peps.
2. try to act professional its not hard to do unless your a kid.
p.s.. heres your quote
"However, facts are facts (facts, of course, being reliable tests combined with documented results"now go log on nod32 and read up on the facts
goodluck on your goals and in the future try to respect me and other people.. if u cant then best not post as this website is for helping people not putting them down.

...*sigh* This isn't even worth my time debating...although I'd like to point out to anyone who might read this in the future that, if you'll read his original post, it was most certainly not just instruction on how to setup deep scanning: it was also a very poor attempt to convince people that "nod32 is simply the best antivirus scanner around period".
I will no longer be posting or reading this thread.

NOD32 is the best so they say.It may catch "every" virus but it misses newly made trojans which mcafee is able to detect.
~White Hat~

There is not 1 antivirus in the world that can detect 100% of the viruses,@ 100% of the time. Now if you base your claims on facts, and tests, then Nod32 is the clear winner in the virus bulletin tests with 28 passes / 3 fails, and it failed the virus bulletin tests 3 times since 1998 on windows and linux operating systems. If you base your claims on personal opinions, then i would recommend nod32.Mcafee had 16 passes / 17 fails, and it failed the virus bulletin tests 17 times since 1998.Norton had 25 passes / 6 fails, and it failed the virus bulletin tests 6 times since 1998. If you want proof to backup my claims then click on the link provided and see for yourself. VIRUS BULLETIN TESTS
