I don't know if this is a virus but I can't think of any other explanation. I regulary check on my disk space (i used WinXP 512MB RAM).

My used disk space was 2.91G 3 days ago, I then installed some buggy software but UNINSTALLED it, and my used space went up to 2.96G (I searched for files modified in the last 24 hours and could not find where the files that are taking up space come from).

(Note: I empty temp folders continuously)

I downloaded some MS updates (which were less than 6 Megs) and my used disk space went up to 2.99G.

Then just today, I checked used disk space and it's 3.12G!!! Where did the 130M come from?? I did not download or create any new documents since last night, does anyone have any idea what's going on? Someone told me I might have a virus (that maybe came from the crappy midi sequencing software, not xp compatible) that records keyboard keystrokes?

Helpful input desperately needed...

try useing disk clean up to get rid of excess disk clutter.
you might want to check out windowasher and or systemechanic to realy clean out windows
hidden ie clutter.
and do an online scan at housecall antivirus.

This can also be happening from internet explorer cache, and files in your temp directories. If you want to know where all the temp dir's are you can go to a DOS prompt and type "echo %TEMP%" and "echo %TMP%". These will show where they are currently set to.
