Hello to All-
I just uploaded the latest Internet explorer 8, and now when when I connect my memory stick it does not recognize it. I have windows XP. Help what do I do now!

was it working before you installed ie8? If so, try
uninstalling it and see if that helps. I uninstalled Ie8 on
many pcs already because it was so extremely slow. Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Go to device manager > click on new hardware scanning.
After scanning you should check that usb devices is detecting or not.
You can also disable and enable usb port and check now.

Hello to ALL
Thanks for your suggestions; I've try them all, but unfortunately, the USB is still not working any other suggestions.
Thanks

Are you using any USB hubs? If you do try on connecting the usb directly to the port.

Hey Lvcan20:
Thanks for the replies; I'm connecting the memory stick directly to thte USB ports, but it still not recongnizing it.
Thanks

Do other usb devices work on that usb port? I have one usb stick that I have to "wiggle" a bit so the light blinks and it's recognized.
If the issue is with the usb ports itself then I seem to remember years ago having to go into device mgr and uninstalling the usb root hubs but not the usb host controler(s) and restarting Xp twice.
Hope this helps

Well have you tried the Blog's guide while installing the Usb directly to the usb port?
