This will be my third post here today on this issue. I keep finding my post gone when I check back, and not sure why. I am working on my daughters PC that has a URL that as taken over her desktop and disabled the task manager. I have found numerous trojan viruses while completing a virus scan. I am kind of leary about adding to much detail here since like, I said I have posted about this twice already today and keep finding the post gone. But I have ran a damage cleaner program that seemed to clean up some of the viruses and can post a logfile. But each attempt of removing the URL that has taken over the desktop havge been unsuccessful to this point. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Bill

Your post's were most likely removed cause you were including the link to the suspect virus on a public form. Look at all the people that need help on these forms and imagine if just 1/3 of them checked out your link just to see if its a virus. I'm just guessing, but thats probably why your posts go missing.

First you should look into some free spy-ware and virus removal tools: Spybot::Scans reports and corrects, very good tool. AVG::This is one of the best free anti-virus aps, updated constantly. Once free of the infection leave this installed for future protection. Start with running those if the infected computer will allow it, they should catch anything to give you an idea of where to look if not solve the problem. Try HiJackThis, the output is somewhat cryptic if your not a vetted user. Run this last if all else fails. This site has a log analyzer and many experts who can help with that if need be. HiJackThis

Retrotechtive, I have ran the HijackThis program and can post the log here when I get back to the PC later today. I can not get the suggested anti spyware programs to download at least on my last attempt. I will be attempting to add in these anti spyware programs into the pc by removable devise later today.
