I have two operating systems installed on my computer, Windows XP on E drive and Windows Me on C drive.
A few days ago, I shut down Windows XP, but didn't wait and just turned off the power. Later on, when I tried to load XP, it shows me the "Windows XP loading" screen, then restarts for no reason. I've tried Safe Mode, and it just does the same thing.
I'm currently using Windows ME, but the problem is I can't access E drive (it just doesnt show on "My Computer" folder) so I can't do a virus scan, or save my important files and re-install XP.
Is this a possible virus, or my computer's internal problem etc? And is there a way for me to somehow access my E drive and retrieve my important files?
Thank you :)

Have you tried to repair windows by
Configuring your computer to start from the CD-ROM drive. You will have to do this by entering your bios and selecting your cdrom as the first boot device.
#1 When the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.
#2 Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows XP now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen.
#3 Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.
#4 In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement.
#5 Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.
#6 Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.
After this is complete, make sure that your firewall, and antivirus is enabled before your online. You will have to update windows again through the (windows update) to download the updates.PEACE!!!

Since you can only boot into ME at this time you will not be able to see or access the E drive with the XP install. When you installed XP it most likely formatted the drive in NTFS which is the XP default. ME CAN NOT read this file structure. You will need to get the XP restored and working or find someone who can slave the drive into an XP box and run a virus scan and backup your files. IT might be the only thing left is a format and reinstall of XP on that drive. There are no other methods that will read the drive unless you can get into XP.
