I have a virus that seems to be affecting my memory preformance. I am not sure what virus it is, nor do I know what kind of virus I am dealing with. It is most easily identiffied when gaming. I get memory reference errors. I know it is not my memory becuase I have gotten the same error on several different machines, and this is in games that I have been using on each machine for years now. If anyone could give me some insight as to what I am dealing with, or a possible way to fix it or a program to try it would realy appreciate it.
Are you running any type of Anti-Virus software on your computer? If you are then update it and scan for a virus. If you are not then go out and purchase Anti-Virus software, update it then do a scan.
You can also go here for a free scan but you have to give information first.

It might be an XP patch (maybe other versions as well). There was one a little while ago that changed something for large memory allocation (parameters?).
Did you upgrade DirectX?
