Uninstaling Norton

I am trying to install PC Guard that comes free with telwest and the program tells me i need to uninstall norton. i started to do this then my computer restarted. now when i go on to add remove programs norton is still there but when i try to remove it i get the error report message. the problem is norton isnt on the computer but i cannot install pc guard as it still thinks that it is. Can anyone help?

just go to the norton site and get the proper removal instructions for the version you are using. Norton is definitely not the easiest to get out of a PC.

i had the same problem when i used norton.. try using SymNRT (Norton Removal Tool ).if that doesnt work remove it from the registry..Jv16 Power Tools might be helpful.
