Comment:

uhm.. first.. I don't know what to fill in by CPU/Ram, it says:
"Intell Pentium III processor
730 MHz
256 MB of RAM"

it's hard for me to describe what my problem is because of my limited knowledge of computers.. im just a simple gamer..

ok my problem:
I do not know why my PC makes weird noises the (about) 5 seconds before my clock switches from *:41 to *:42 (the hour doesn't seem to matter, i've noticed it before today)
I'm afraid the sound it caused by software trying to connect to the internet (couldn't today). uhm .. not really that, I hope you understand what I mean.
because I don't know what my PC could be doing and I'm afraid of having keyloggers or something, I decided to register and post here about it.
I hope you can help me out.
If you need more information (what you probably will) just ask and tell me where to find it..

now I have connection I heard nothing..
I watched Taks Manager when the time switched... nothing to see.
I heard the noise twice today.

Next to CPU/RAM you just put:

PIII 750MHz/256M RAM

I've no real clue about problem so await others. If you can somehow describe the noise it might help I suppose. Any other symptoms?

Keyloggers don't, as a rule, announce themselves - that'd be somewhat self-defeating

It's a bit ingenuous to assume every inexplicable event is the result of malware

As far as your specs go, your OS is a little unclear:

Windows 2002 Pro SP1

?

do you mean XP Pro SP1... or something completely different?

indeed i mean XP Pro SP1

I virus-scanned my PC and found a "Hacking Tool", ofcourse I removed/deleted it.
I'm scanning agian.. (im at 10% of scanning, and found a threat. I don't have time to wait for scan to end, so I'll post again later.)
hmm I'm not really good at discribing sounds..
sorry, I can't think of a way to describe it, and I have to go .. (english is my 2nd language).

I well understand how difficult it can be to describe sounds in words (even in one's native language).

Yes, let us know if there has been any improvement because noises when the clock changes is a totally new one to me.

Here's a freebie that is biassed towards finding and fixing trojans:
A-SQUARED FREE - JUST DOWN PAGE

It is different to a virus scanner so it is worth a shot because it might find what the AV will miss. Make sure you get the latest updates before running. It takes a while to scan (rather like an AV).

Thanks for the help

the "Hacking Tool" seems to have a backup of itself somewhere ...
I found it again, and I have no idea what I should do...
I'm gonna run a virus scan again.
can someone tell me what it could do?

Did you try that A-SQUARED I suggested in #4? If not then give it a try.

As far as that goes, a 'hacking tool' poses no threat, and is not any sort of malware or virus that's running on your machine - rather, it's a program that can be used to bypass the security on other systems.

This would include a 'key logger' although NOT one that was compromising YOUR machine (but the reverse)
