So I have this virus, it lags up my firefox, and then just closes it every 30 seconds. Iv run it through Ad-Aware and Malwarebytes two times, FULL scan, not a single virus detected. scanned all my drives. Also, it keeps spawning popups that i can't see. Like you know those audio sounds like "congratulations, you have won a free Ipod nano, etc. etc."? I can hear it, but no pop up to be found. Even when firefox isnt open. what can I do??

Glad to see I'm not the only one. For me, I use IE and Firefox, but the virus jumped IE. It would run IE processes even after force quit, and there was also some totally randomly named program that would likewise respawn upon killing. Something like y and then a bunch of numbers. I used BitDefender's free trial and it found something and put it down (TM HouseCall and Spyware S&D missed it entirely) ... and I don't see those processes anymore... but I also still keep losing browser attention in FF. I'm concerned at this point something is continuing to live. I'm a pretty careful computer user and likewise have a fair idea of typical attack methods. I'm also using SecurityTaskManager to monitor processes, but not finding anything. Perhaps it really is gone and one of the new programs is taking focus from my browsing window persistently... I hope so. I'll let you know if I find more.
