For the last few days I have been getting msgs returned to my Outlook Express box as undeliverable.
The messages are over 130,000 characters in length and just a bunch of gibberish. They were sent to addresses I never heard of.
This looks to me like a hacker attack. I had my XP firewall activated but I guess it was useless against this stuff.
I have been on verison DSL for about a month now.
I just installed sygate firewall and deactivated my windows firewall. The junk msgs have stopped.
I am a complete newbie at this hacker stuff.
Was this a hacker attack with someone getting into my set and sending stuff out?
The sygate looks to be a fine program.
Thank you,
Jim

If someone who has your E-mail address in their address book got the KLEZ virus, you would get these type of E-mail's bounce back to you even though you did not send them.
I think it's called spoofing.

I have read XP's firewall is not very good.

do online virus scan at panda or housecall antivirus be cause the klez allso disables onboard virus scanner. and do a search of files and folders for wink and random lteters and numbers behind it ie search for wink *.*
there are two normal wink files so it will be many wink files.

Thanks Wawa and 12. I did do a housecall scan and came up clean. So I guess I'm OK with Sygate doing its thing.
Thanks again,
Jim

Definely Kelz.H Virus, you don't have it, someone that you know has it. Just remember that sometimes the Kelz virus WILL be in one of those "Undeliverable Mail" messages your getting as a attachment. Delete all of those messages when you get them. You can't find out the email address of the person who is affected from the email that is being sent to you. As long as you have done a on line internet virus scan, plus you current antio virus program is up to date. Then your fine.
Be Happy
