First of all uninstall Kazaa from the add/remove programs list. Then go to

http://www.lavasoft.nu/downloads.html

and download Ad-Aware. Hopefully it will find that file and delete for you. If not try Spybot Search & Destroy. You can download it here:

http://patrick.kolla.de/spybotsd.html

If those 2 things don't work, go here and and read post # 2 and follow directions.

http://www.computing.net/security/wwwboard/forum/2025.html

If none of those thing help then post back; I'm sure someone else will have ideas too.

Good luck.

PS - you should really consider gettig rid of Kazaa forever; it causes nothing but trouble. See all the posts here from people with problems from it.

Open MY COMPUTER - C: drive - PROGRAMS - KAZAA - then virus check MY SHARED FOLDER before opening it up. Your files are in here and can be deleted.
If you can't delete the file because it's a bogus file, ie it has symbols instead of letters for the name... See here-
http://www.computing.net/windowsme/wwwboard/forum/26306.html
http://www.computing.net/windowsme/wwwboard/forum/26339.html
deleting recycle bin and strange named folders.

If you can view the file and it is a .BMP file there should be no problem in the deletion.
If you view the files using the Kazaa programs option, then these will be opened without manually virus checking - not a good idea.

If you can't do without file share progs, delete Kazaa (and all it's spyware)details here...
http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/Quarters/5077/new/cleankazaa.html
And get Kazaa Lite, it's the same program but with the spyware removed or disabled...
www.kazaalite.com
NB you also need to download the 'HOSTS' file and place it in the Windows Directory to kill the pop-up's.

Just a thought... have you got your PC to show 'known file types' ? if not your .bmp file may actually be
picture.bmp.scr
ie a double extention that would look like a bit map file on a PC without the known file extention types shown.

I received a music file with a double extention... .mp3.scr this turned out to be a virus!

Post back with your results.

I found an "easy way" that may work, as I just had the same problem.

I simply renamed the sub folder (I called it "llama" but I think anything will work).

So I renamed "my shared folder" to "llama." Then I just deleted my shared folder and that was the end of that.
