i need help! I think i downloaded a virus or spyware from a website. i can't open any program besides internet explorer. and when i say nothing i mean nothing! can't even open cmd. i also keep getting a pop-up when searching for help. Windows Police scanner? that leads me to another website to buy and download an AV? i have no clue what to do...i dont know too much about comps and need some help...thank you kris d.

Tufenuf, Thanks for the help, but i'm having problems with the malware. I installed it and when it began to scan my comp, the program closed and i couldnt reopen it. The same thing has been happening to all my anti-virus spyware software. They close when i begin the scan and wont re-open or just wont open period. What's wrong with my comp? Tufenuf, Yes, i printed the directions like it suggested and followed them in order until 14. When i started the scan, it switched to scanning, then just closed after a second of scanning and i couldn't get it back up. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it just did the same thing. I tried another virus scanner that i had seen suggested on other forums for this problem, "Avira Antivir Personal". It has been scanning and doesnt close. Hopefully, I've gotten rid of it all. My comp is working without the pop-ups and such. Everything is working so far. But i guess we'll see. Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it. kris d.
