Subject: Trouble Removing Dropper.Small
OS: XP
CPU/Ram: Intel/ 1024
Model/Manufacturer: Gateway 566GE
Comment:
AVG performed scan and was unable to "heal" the file(virus called Dropper.Small)..I have tried to find and delete file manually but I cannot find the file.
c:\documents and settings\owner\local settings\temp\temporary internet files\content.IE5\4JDZEMZD\image_head02[1].htm

I followed these steps.
1-Turned off System restore.
2-reboot into safe mode.
3-scan with Stinger--nothing came up
4-scan with AVG still showed virus but would not 'heal'.
5-reboot into normal mode still cannot find file.

I would love to know how to get rid of this booger. Thanks for the help in advance.

An easy thing to try is to D/L Avast Free to your desktop, disable AVG, install avast and let it do a bootscan on reboot. Move whatever it finds to the chest.

Also try this free on-line scan:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php
and remove all it finds.

If that doesn't fix your problem there are other solutions....let us know how you make out, thanks

Some HELP in posting on Cnet plus free progs and instructions Glad to Help!

I would (and have in these cases) just manually delete the offending file from safe mode.

-happy to help if I can :-
