Trojan.Vundo problems
Name: Cookies Date: May 16, 2009 at 10:40:04 Pacific OS: Microsoft XP Media Center 2005 CPU/Ram: 2.4 GHz / 1024 MB(1 GB) Product: Hewlett-packard / Hp pavilion a1230n Subcategory: Viruses
Comment:
Hi everybody, my desktop computer had a rogue spyware, so I scanned for viruses, and found many Vundo infections. I removed the infections and restarted. Ever since, I just get a blank screen. When I open Task Manager, there are a hundred init32.exe processes. I can open explorer.exe, but I get a ton of Init32 - No disk errors saying, "Insert a disk in Device1\Harddisk\DR1. Any ideas!
Once you download and start the tool select all the objects to be scanned and hit Scan
Make sure you take screen shots/log of detected items. Fix what kaspersky detects/recommends.

I tried to download the file, but the init32 processes are majorly slowing down the computer. I can't even start the browser, or Explorer!

Download on other PC and transfer it over to infected PC or run/download in safe mode with networking support.

Two problems. One, when I go to the site in safe mode with networking, I can't access any site except Google. Two, XP can't recognize my drive! Also, my computers keep making beeping sounds! Help!

There isn't much you can do if you can't download programs to fix it. Format and reinstall.

Try Boot disc like hirens or http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ . Some of them have Antivirus scanner in it. You might also want to try anti virus rescue boot disc from kaspersky/bitdefender/avg/eset.

Hertinas, I cannot get into login, which means that I cannot download spyware remover.
neoark, I used UBCD4Win Avira scanner. There were many infections, which were all repaired. Now, when I login to XP, it logs in, and then immediately logs back off (logon loop).

Ah, userinit.exe was missing, so I recovered it. Another problem, when I try to use Firefox, there is only a blank page, even when I manually enter an IP, it still doesn't work. Same with IE.
I can ping google, but the ip address turns out to be [°ÿ]
Help?
