Hello,
I am trying to help my friend, whose WinXP Home is infected with TrojanDownloader.Win32.Agent.cd virus. I installed F-Secure Antivirus 5, got the
latest patch and virus definitions for it and run it. It was unable to disinfect or rename it.Now, after a restart, the explorer does
not load! (Apparently the virus has
infected explorer.exe) I am able to get
to the desktop but the menus or icons will not load. I can see only the wallpaper and am able to use ctrl-alt-del to see processes. I can restart in safe mode but in it I am unable to run F-Secure Antivirus. What should I do? Do a repair install of Windows XP and immediately run F-Secure?
Please help!
The PC: Windows XP Home SP1, 512 RAM,
AMD 1700+.
