when desktop is booted up, getting message fntldr.exe, cannot find the file 'fntldr.exe' (or one of its compontents). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available, when i click out of that i get another message saying, DESKTOP could not load or run 'fntldr.exe' specified in the WIN.INI file. Make sure the file exists on your computer or remove the reference to it in the WIN.INI file. my norton did a scheduled virus scan and detected two infected files, i quarentined them then deleted them. the titles of these files were Dummy.class and Verifierbug.class, am i to understand that i have a trojan.byte virus? also when i was getting online i wasn't getting my original home page of yahoo, instead i was getting some other page, but i seem to have fixed that problem now, but everytime i do a search and bring up different sites to my search, i have an error on page in my bottom tool bar, but when i go to the web page i want, the error message is no longer there. i have virus definitions updates all the time, how did this virus get into my computer, if thats my problem? help anyone???? thanx

Hey,

I had the same issue and someone posted the answer. Simply go to your start and click on find folders/files. Then type in msconfig and search for it. Open the file and you will see tabs at the top of the file. Click on startup and pan down to the bottom. You will see a file =run, uncheck the box and you will be fine. I would do this after you have run Adware or some spyware program to remove everything first.
