Comment:

Whenever I do an online Trojan scan, at the end of the report the following info is given even though, nothing is found :

Unable to scan C:\System Volume Information : Access Denied

This is repeated on all my partitions.

Any help appreciated.

That is your system restore file....windows locks that file out from any programs modifying it including antivirus and trojan removers.
If you have just recently removed a trojan or virus windows may have backed it up in that file, turn off system restore and after running another scan and all is clean, turn it back on again.
You will need to restart machine when you turn off system restore...that will remove all restore points and virus or trojan from that file.
to turn off system restore...right click "my computer"> properties> system restore tab> check the box "turn off system restore on all drives"> apply> ok. You will be prompted to reboot.

To turn it back on...just reverse the above instructions.
Good luck

I tried what you suggested but the same message comes up: Unable to scan C:\System Volume Information : Access Denied.

By the way when I disabled System Restore I was not prompted to reboot

You will not be prompted, it is just something that must be done to have the system restore files deleted. After you restart your computer try the scan, or try it from the safe mode.
