My computer runs really slow so today I decided to scan it using uniblue spyeraser and AVG free edition.
Uniblue found trojan-backdoor.Rbot.hx and 2 malware programs
AVG found a trojan horse generic 10.AVVU, a trojan horse agent.YPY and a trojan horse agent.YPX. (And this was just on the external hard drive!)
I have scanned the computer previously and trojan horses were found and removed but they seem to be coming back all the time.
My boyfriend even reinstalled windows to try to rid the computer of them but they are still present.
What should we do? (I personally think a new computer but my boyfriend wants to fix it!)

use this program, make sure you back up all your data that you want, and use the below program to whip the drive. This will erase any virus program on the harddrive. Also make sure that when you install xp, install avg and make sure there is not viruses on the computer. good luck.
