Trojan Hider OOW.virus solution that worked for me:

My computer was infected with the Trojan Hider OOW which infected my Windows files mainly the system32 driver etc. I could not get completely rid of it with the avg 2012 anti-virus free edition.

I virus struck 12/17/11 and it would not allow me to get on the internet explorer and hid alot files. I had to get on the internet using firefox verses internet explorer.

To completely get rid of this terrible virus I had to run 3 anti virus programs against it...all free, in a combined effort to delete this virus. Malwarebytes Malware, Avg 2012, and Avast. It Worked!!

What Avg 2012 and Malwarebytes could not completely remove, esp. the actual virus itself Trojan Hider OOW, Avast did remove completely. But this requires running all three anti-virus programs to get the job done.

Also, Avg tune-up is a great tool to run to clean-up your computer and improves the over all performance. Hope this helps others to get rid this ugly, frustrating virus inexpensively.

I downloaded and ran TDSS Killer and was able to use their "restore" button and there I was able to access a restore point and restored computer to an earlier date. I ran AVG Free and Malwarebytes scans and all came up clean now!!! Hope that got rid of it all. But, I will also download and run Avast as advised. Thanx to all for reply's!
