I have gotten some of these downloader trojans, too. Write down the exact name of the file and use Find to locate exactly where it's saved to. Then, using Explore, go to that directory and find the file. Usually (but not always) you can delete it. If not, then try renaming it or moving it to a floppy, etc. Go to Mcafee.com and find the file in their lists. It will probably tell you how to get rid of it. That's if shane and yankanuk's solutions don't work.
Anyway, good luck. HTH :)

I've got that virus too. All AV failed to kill it. Then I was advised to deactivate the virus from DOS. At it worked!(tks to freecreed) First locate the virus. Usually after you scan and quarantined there's 1 file left still infected, that's the file you should rename so that the virus got deactivated. Do that in DOS. Good luck!

Summary: Just had the symptoms as described above. AVG 6 came up with a dialogue box saying there was a virus and to run a scan, which I did. The box appeared whilst off-line and I was in 'My computer'. 3 fil...
