Hi

I am having a problem with a Trojan Horse Dialer. AVG says it is in c:\_RESTORE\TEMP and I can't delete the relevant .CPY files as it won't allow me access.

I am not very experienced at this kind of thing, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm running an ADSL connection, so presumably this means that the dialer won't be able to do any harm in terms of dialling up expensive numbers?

Thanks

Since you have ME, you need to turn system restore off and restart the computer. During th restart, I would enter the safe mode and run AVG"s scan while in it. Then restart the computer again and run one more scan. When you have determined the system is clean, you can turn system restore back on if you like using it. System restore files are "pprotected", which is why AVG is denied access to clean r repair them. HTH

Mr Computer>right click to select properties>select adavanced and you should see system restore listed>turn it off and restart the computer. During the restart press or tap the F8 key to enter the safe mode, some computers use F2, but most use the F8 key.
