Per XpUser4Real's request please post a Hijack This log so that the files associated with the virus/spyware/hijacker can be identified. Please download HJTsetup.exe from this link http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/HJTsetup.exe to your desktop. Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This. Continue to click "next" in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the "Select Addition Tasks" dialogue. Put a check by "Create a desktop icon" then click "Next" again. Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there. At the final dialogue box click "Finish" and it will launch Hijack This. Click on the "Do a system scan and save a logfile" button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log and post it in this thread. Do not fix anything yet unless you know what you are doing. This is a powerful tool that can crash the computer if used improperly.

Choose your usual account. Run Ewido from safe mode and let it delete all that it finds. Run ATF-Cleaner from safe mode.Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program. Under Main choose: Select All Click the Empty Selected button. Empty the restore folder. Go to start>control panel>system>system restore tab>check the box beside "turn off system restore>apply (takes a minute)>ok. Go back and uncheck the box to turn system restore back on>apply>ok. So I did everything on the list until it came to running Ewido. This is what I got: Ewido anti-spyware 4.0 window exception Dialog box says: "Something bad happened in the application. Looks like a clean computer to me, only cookies in the Panda log. To get rid if the cookies navigate to this folder and delete its contents: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\Cookies Just double click the "cookie" folder> highlight the files you want to delete with the mouse (all except the index.dat file)>file>delete. You may have to do this a few at the time. ATF-Cleaner may remove them.

I did that. Ran AVG and it found one persistent Trojan downloader. Should i just overlook it or am i in the clear?

No we should not overlook a downloader, can you get the file path from AVG, example C:\WINDOWS\System32\xxx.exe lets try another tool. If not run the following tool. Please download Dr Web CureIt to your desktop from this link ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan. This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan. Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan. Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen. Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start. Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file. When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found: If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable. This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples) After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv Close Dr.Web Cureit. Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot. After reboot, post the contents of the log on your desktop.

Ran DrWeb. Saved Log on desktop. One virus found (from AIM Triton). Unable to open csv file after reboot. Rerun DrWeb, but while running, AVG pops up with Viral warning, able to heal. After DrWeb done, no viruses found. So I'm assuming i'm in the clear! Was AVG able to do it's job with a secondary program running? The other virus was healed while running previous programs in my attempts. Thanks

Go to start> control panel > add/remove programs> and un install these programs if found: Oin Yazzle by Oin Purityscan by Oin Snowballwars by Oin Cowabanga by OIN or anything similar with Oin in it. You need to get the newest version of Java installed on the computer, it can be downloaded from this link. http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp Once you get the new version installed go to start> control panel> add\remove programs and uninstall the older version. You should add "Spywareblaster" to your arsenol of antispyware tools, just do a google search for spywareblaster, download it,install it, and update it. Its free and runs in the background, so you don't actually run it, and re-writes malicious script before it can install on your computer. Look for updates weekly as there is no auto-update on the free version.
