Norton found a virus on my pc today, didi a full scan and found 6 copies of BELT.exe which it says is a trojan, it managed to quarantine 4 of them but failed to quarantine or delete the other 2, did the turn off system restore thing and rebooted in safe mode, ran norton again but it still cannot get rid of the 2 remaining items. Any ideas of what to do next?

Using the two programs below regularly is always a good idea.
Make sure to update the programs after downloading and installation, then scan your PC.
Delete everything the programs find; all deletions are reversible.
If you still have problems after using Spybot and Ad-Aware, download HijackThis (a new version is available), scan your PC, and post the log in the Security & Virus forum here at Computing .net.
BELT.exe was dealt with a few days ago here in the forum:

I may have missed something, if no joy.

I understand how to delete the 2 bits in hijack this, what do you mean about delete Belt.exe in safe mode?

Rob:
Safe Mode:
Restart your computer. Before you hear the hard drive head rattle on the bumper and see the splash screen and white cursor, start tapping the F8 key. The time for action is small, so if you miss, restart again, repeat the procedure.
A black screen will come up with options. Use your up/down keys to select safe mode then hit ENTER. Follow the prompts.
Solarian

No need to boot into safe mode to delete Belt.exe.
Fix the Belt.exe entry with HT, reboot and delete the file.

If no familiar with manual option to rid off Belt.exe, try Trojan Remover to do it:

The download.trojan, when activated sends info to a url of the author's choice. It enables more trojans and programs to be downloaded.Norton will detectbut not quarantine or delete if contained in a cab file.Do this: De activate system restore.Remove all references to belt.exe and info files etc from the registry. Make sure you have selected to show hidden files, then do a search for "belt." You will find a 'cab' file somewhere (mine was in c:/documents and settings/**user/temp/temporary internet files)and delete or drag and drop to the bin. Restart and run AVG or Norton again.

First of all, how do i find ALL of the references to belt in the registry? It's not like it's small.... Also, I don't want to disable system restore, I think that would be stupid to do at this point in case I can't get rid of the virus, and seeing as how i only contracted it a mere month ago. Thanks

Problem fixed! Here is the easiest way to remove that virus for all of you who had problems. Simply restart your computer and keep tapping F8, and select to start up in safe mode with command prompt. Use command prompt (make sure you know how to navigate in command prompt, it's just like dos) to navigate to the location of the belt.cab or belt.exe file, and delete it using the del command. Doing it this way allows you to delete it whether there are references to it or not in the registry.

Please assist. Here is the log I got when I ran HiJackThis:
