Hi, my name is Nik, and I have a problem on my computer with spyware and possibly viruses. My printer does not work, and I have full ink cartridges. When I print, it starts to print and makes the noise it should make to print, but no ink is printed onto the paper that comes out. I tried reinstalling drivers for the printer, but that did not change anything. I have performed all printer cleaning tasks. I have been suspecting spyware and viruses for the past few days, so I scanned Ad-aware and Spybot (I regularly scan with these, and Spybot always detects Wild Tangent--whatever that is--but Spybot cannot remove it--I doubt Wild Tangent does any harm--if you know otherwise, please alert me in a response). I also scanned with Microsoft Antispyware. Anyways, they found a lot of stuff, and I deleted them all, but new stuff pops up EVERYTIME. MAybe the stuff regenerates--I dunno--but it's annoying--sometimes they disable my Norton Anti-virus auto-protect. My Norton Anti-virus subscription expired 6-24-2005, so I know I need to update that first, but I am scared to because I heard spyware and viruses on my computer can record keystrokes like a credit card number, and can steal my credit car number, so I haven't renewed the subscription yet. Does anyone know how secure the Symantec Norton Anti-virus website is? The website is where I renew the service, and I want to be sure that they block spyware and other crap from stealing my credit card number before I actually renew it. Also, if anyone has any idea on how to remove these spyware/viruses (I think one of them is 180assistant and trojan.ISbar and stuff like that) and help for fixing the printer problem, I would really appreciate the help.

The Symantic/Norton website is very secure!

You get rid of the junk and it comes back?

Turn off System Restore, clean the junk again and reboot. I bet it doesn't come back.
