Hi,

I've recently started receiving abusive emails from a microsoft.com address. I suspect it is from a disgruntled ex-employee who is i suspect sending the email from a mail redirecter.

The address is almost certainly faked.

It is a plain text email and has come through to my outlook inbox. Is there any way i can trace back to the ip address this came from?

Adam

If it was a disgruntled MS ex-employee it would be common knowledge by now (unless he/she is only attacking "you").

Usually this type of emailer uses spoof addresses that change all the time. It's not easy to track them down from the machine. If Outlook is like OE then right click the email then go to Properties/Details/Message Source.

If you get other spam email then your are already on the slippery slope...
