Comment:
My anti virus software keeps detecting the TR/Zapchast virus in c:\windows\system32\srv3d.sys and subsequently deletes it. Have tried using spybot, addaware and hijack this but it keeps coming back. Have also tried looking on various forums but cannot find a method to get rid of it. Can anyone help please?

try starting in safe mode, check msconfig>startup for any file starting zapchast, check temp folder and empty, using regedit search for zapchast and any other linked file and delete , scan again with adaware and virus scan...:)

Thank you for your comments. I have tried as you instructed but could not find any file starting with zapchast anywhere. Ran the scan and anitvirus anyway but as expected the virus is still there somewhere.
