In the past, you mentioned you were using a gentle registry cleaner. Could you post back with the name of it?

My gal needs to use one for periodic maintenance, but I'm hesitant to recommend RegSeeker or jv16 Power Tools to her, since those utilities are very powerful, and she doesn't have a lot of experience with the registry.

I want her to use something safe. 8-)

Thanks, Solarian

I know I wasn't asked, but...

If you're looking for a 'gentle' cleaner, you may want to try TweakNow RegCleaner. It's the only one I ever used that didn't break a single app. True, it finds fewer things to delete, but that seems to be along the lines of what you're looking for.

Hi Solarian... I have been using RegCleaner 4.3 for some time now, and have had good results with it. I particularly like it as it will make a backup just in case I screw something up.
My weakness is trying to get myself out of a jam, so I really like that backup feature just in case. I never had to use the backup
yet though.
I also like the "search" feature, as it will thoroughly search out obsolete remnants of junk files and bits of programs that I have deleted.
I think she would find that RegCleaner fairly easy to use, and relatively safe too.
Hope this helps a bit.. take care, Solarian.
By the way... we picked up 5 inches of snow overnight here in central Mass.; no beach weather now, LOL!!

I've never had a problem with Easy Cleaner, but won't say it's "gentle".

Tommyo:

Installed RegCleaner 4.3 on my gal's PC this afternoon. She's comfortable with it and it did a nice job, finding over a hundred orphaned keys.

Incidentally, RegCleaner was created by the same guy that later produced jv16 Power Tools, Jouni Vuorio. I've got about a dozen different registry utilities, but jv16 PT (payware version) is my cleaner of choice. Registry First Aid is also very good.
