Howdy peeps,
Just purchased an upgraded computer which cames with Norton 2004 Antivirus and Firewall ready to install. The question is do i use Norton or not? Ive heard/read war stories about people having problems with there Norton protected computers and was wondering if i should continue using the AVG 6 + Zonealarm combo i had before or go with the free Norton. Any ideas or pearls of wisdom would be much appreciated.
Cheers for any response.

Yeah I think its a month or so's free subscription before ive got to start paying. So should i pay the money and use Norton or use the free AVG and Zonealarm? Does Norton offer better protection than these 2??

Depends on what your willing to pay if anything...its all personal choice...Norton slows down your system quite a bit and its database is probably larger.Avast home edition is good enough for me although I use others, I would suggest AVG becuase Norton is that big of a step over AVG.

Hey Buzz187, do yourself a favor(IMHO), stick with AVG. I have used AVG 6, and am using AVG 7 now, such a good program for free. My brother just received a laptop from mom that had Norton anti-virus on it. Trying to remove it to install AVG was such a hassle that I finally ended up just leaving it on th hd, but turning off all functions, and not allowing the program to even start up. I frequent another forum(not to be named), and when you look at the security forum part of it, you will see at least 10 Norton problems to 1 AVG. I`m sure opinions will vary, this is just mine.

Thanks for all your responses peeps. Its refreshing to find a forum with people on it who actually want to help.....rather than a bunch of no-hopers with superiority complexes!!
Cheers again.
