My apologies jabuck and nope..no message that I saw sorry about that. Anyways. I have tried the fix in the other post, as well as a bunch of others. These win##.tmp files are created in C:\WINDOWS\TEMP It seems after a bit a win##.tmp.exe is created.

additonal info. When trying to delete these there is a message that tells me the process is in use. I can kill the exe files and delete those but found the only way to kill the tmp files is to use processexplorer and kill the items with the same name in the winlogon.exe area. then I can delete them. But once again in 2 minutes 5 more show up.
I am seeing one item in my HJT log that I cannot find info about and it is

O20 - Winlogon Notify: winzoa32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winzoa32.dll

That is a look2me file I believe. We need to look first a little deeper then run a fix. If you are running Nortons Antivirus with script blocking it will have to be turned of for this to work.

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log.

Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this topic. Be sure to copy all of it.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

This Fix must NOT be run in safe mode for it to work.

If you receive, while running option #1, an error similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter. It will process then start. Your desktop and icons will disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, it will be ready for a reboot. Press any key to reboot. After the reboot notepad will open with a log.

Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Do Not run in safe mode!!

If after the reboot the log does not open double click on it in the l2mfix folder.

Then download and run ccleaner to clean out all your temp files. Make sure there is not anything in the recycle bin that you need as ccleaner will delete recycle bin items unless checked not to do so. We will run this in safe mode later.

After you get into safe mode run HT again, closes all windows and browsers execpt HT, place a check to the left of the following items and press "fix checked":

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
Put a tick by Standard File Kill.
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time.

Click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file.
It will ask for confimation to delete the file.

Run ccleaner

Post a new HT log

Post a start list from HT. To do this run HT, click the "open misc tool section" button>check the two boxes to the right of "generate startup list" log> then click generate startup list. Post that log.

The winlogon notify came back and once again I selected to fix it. Upon reboot in normal mode I am now running win43.tmp.exe as well as win52.tmp.exe

A mean one no doubt.Let's try it another way.

Please download http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe by Atribune.
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Download Ewido Security Suite then set it up this way Ewido Setup Instructions We'll run it in safe mode later

Run HT again and remove these items:

O20 - Winlogon Notify: winzoa32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winzoa32.dll

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
Put a tick by Standard File Kill.
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time.
Click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file.

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winzoa32.dll

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\win43.tmp.exe

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\win52.tmp.exe

It will ask for confimation to delete the file.
Click Yes.
Continue with that procedure until you have pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

Run Ewido from safe mode and whenhen the scan has completed, Ewido will create a report.txt file. Click the "Save Report" button on the bottom of the screen and save the log to your desktop.

Please reboot into normal mode and post the ewido log.
