Hi there,

I am having a hard time trying to get rid of a worm/ad-aware what ever it is.

When I run Ad-Aware, Spybot - Search & Destroy and Panda Internet Security 2006 they pick nothing up, but when I run Spy Sweeper it picks up Adware called “dialerplatform” and a Trojan Horse called “trojan agent winlogonhook” it then says I need to restart so I do, but next time I run Spy Sweeper it picks the same old ones up again.

Also when I do Alt-Ctrl-Del I see win4BC.tmp.exe, win158.tmo.exe, win160.tmp.exe and in my temp folder (C:\WINDOWS\Temp) there are hundreds of win.tmp with all different names but all starting with win, and I am unable to delete any of them, even in safe mode.

I have tried running all my removal software in safe mode but nothing seems to work, and every now and then when I am just sat at my desktop Panda will keep popping up Dialer neutralized! But its not like its removing it as it is forever popping up with the same message.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Please post a Hijack This log so that the files associated with the virus/spyware/hijacker can be identified. You can download Hijack This at this link http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ then place it into a folder of it's on, such as C:\HJT, so that back up copies can be made and not clutter your desktop or other folders and the backup copies of deleted items can be easily located if needed.

Once saved double click HijackThis.exe, and press "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents into the text editor at this forum.

Do not fix anything yet unless you know what you are doing. This is a powerful tool that can crash the computer if used improperly.

reboot in safe mode(f8)

scan with ad-aware and virus scanner,
empty temp folder
empty internet temporary files,
using explore viewer, delete content folders in ~ internet temporary files as well,
empty trash,
try toolbarcop or simular to search for BHO~browser helper objects, and delete unknowns,
check msconfig startup and remove any related files to trojans,
empty trash,
check also registry with regedit to search for files related, if any,
reboot in normal mode, and scan for spyware,
if any remaining, may need to manually place files in trash,

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log.

Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this topic. Be sure to copy all of it.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

This Fix must NOT be run in safe mode for it to work.

If you receive, while running option #1, an error similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter. It will process then start. Your desktop and icons will disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, it will be ready for a reboot. Press any key to reboot. After the reboot notepad will open with a log.

Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Do Not run in safe mode!!

If after the reboot the log does not open double click on it in the l2mfix folder.

There are two problems..look2me and a worm. We need to get rid of look2 me then the worm. The worm could be lop.com, I am not sure at this point.

We need to turn of any anti spyware real time protection or script blocking tolls for the L2M tool to work. Something is blocking the L2M tool. So follow these directions torn off any you have Castlecop real time protection tutorial

Run the the LM tool again, then option #2 and post the results along with a new HT log.

Disabled every thing from running even panda then I ran the L2M tool.

Double-click AFT-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Download killbox to your desktop from this link Killbox We'll use it in safe mode later

Download Ewido Security Suite then set it up this way Ewido Setup Instructions We will run it from safe mode later

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap F8.
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Run Ht again and remove these items:

Put a tick by Standard File Kill.
