I have been running zonealarm for a year or so with no problems. Recently I tried to install the latest update to ZA. The installer locked up midway through the installation, so I tried installing again. Same thing happaened. OK. I Uninstalled ZA, tried to do a clean install. It locks up again 1/2 way through the installation. At this point I'm a bit fed up. I uninstall ZA and downloaded Tiny Personal Firewall 2.0.15 from Cnet. I installed TPF , and now can't get online at all. I set TPF to allow all traffic, but still nothing. I uninstalled TPF, but STILL can't get online again. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm on Comcast cable modem, and when I hooked it up a couple of months ago,set it up,connected seamlessly with no problems then or since.Didn't have to configure anything.
The big difference is that I use SYGATE,and swear by it.You might wanna give it a shot.

What method did you use to uninstall Zone Alarm, think it's hard to get rid of unless you follow the uninstall instructions at their site, my guess would be maybe it's not all gone. I use Tiny with no problems but I am not on cable See if this link will help Uninstalling ZoneAlarm Under Windows Me Good luck!

I have been using TPF2.0, which has the authentication option so that the same rules are applied to all the users on the system. Recently I have installed TPF4.0, i couldn't find any authentication/password option!!! Has it been removed or it needs to be configured in a different way, so that only authenticated users can modify the settings ?
