Ad-Aware and Spybot - Search & Destroy. Remember to update them to the latest reflist file.

Hello, and good day! If I might add also, I find SpywareBlaster to work fantastic, as it will prevent the install of most spywares and tracking cookies.
While Spybot and Adaware are great for "detection - after the fact", SpywareBlaster prevents most crap from getting into your computer in the first place.
I use all three; they work fantastic together. Just remember to check them periodically for updates, as new definitions are frequently added. Hope this helps a little. Take care!

Agree with all of the above. I use Adaware and Spybot S&D for detection, and Spywareblaster for prevention. There's lots more available, but i think you'll find that most people here will recommend the above.

Adaware updates it's reference files almost daily, but you only need to download the most recent update prior to running a scan. I do this weekly myself, but some do it every day. With Spywareblaster installed, i rarely find more than one or two pieces of adware a week.

I too, agree with the above. I have all three on my computer and when I run them I always check for updates first. The last 5 times that I ran S&D my system was clean. CW Shredder also ran a clean verdict and so did Adaware. So I would really say that they are doing what they should be.
