I have had AdAware installed over 1 year now and have kept it updated, but did a fresh install of xp and downloaded the Ad Aware program the new 2007 one and I am not too crazy about the way it loads, it is in my Services running and seems to be constantly on in the background, is their a way to prevent this, or is there a link to the older Ad Aware that does not load when windows turns on?

If you have the free version, they have just changed that. If you have the paid version, you have full realtime protection. Open Ad-Aware & click on > Ad-Watch.

To please you all, we have removed the icon from the icon tray. It will only show during a scheduled activity. That means, Free version users will not see this icon.
Please download the latest update using our update manager.

If you you still have it running as a Service after a reboot.
Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Double click on Ad-Aware & change it to Manual.
