Subject: Tasks in Scheduler not runningOS: Windows XP Home + ServiceCPU/Ram: Intel Pentium 4-2.8 Ghz/5Model/Manufacturer: Dell Dimension 3000 |
Comment: My scheduled tasks are not running, specifically my NIS 2007-antivirus scan. I have it password protected, and set up correctly. My registry cleaner is getting stuck when scheduled. All scans work correctly when I start them manually. Also, spyware, auto protect and phishing filters are being turned off somehow. Any suggestions? rpbnab

Reply: (edit)I can't comment on your actual question - if they are set up right and the task scheduler is activated they should normally run. Including a registry cleaner seems odd because they normally require a human response to agree to which entries to delete. If you let them "delete all" then this is risky because I have many instances on record where valid entries have been removed. With some of them the backup restore is unsafe too (long story). Your last sentence is a bit worrying so I can see why you think this might be a security issue.
