Hi, i hav a few querries bout the nature of the task manager processes and how i can use them to improve my system speed.
Firstly, I have 11 different svchost.exe processes, one of which is using 222mb of memory >:|
Also the 'System' process seems to be vital to the computers functionality. Usually it runs at just over 2mb (from start-up), but sometimes it goes as high as 14mb, with little difference, but also as low as 448kb, where my computers slows right down and becomes laggy :'(
My brother's computer has a similar problem, where his 'System' process goes as high as 70mb, and runs incredibly slowly.
For me this isnt a major issue, but i would like to know what it is and how I could resolve it as, especially when it goes really low, my computer speed suffers greatly and the only way to restore it is to reboot my computer.
Also, my physical memory usage is usually between 1.5 - 2 GB, with a max of 4, which seems like alot of use when I have no applications running.
A couple of other points:
Internet explorer process uses 90mb memory
In the 'Performance' section of task manager i have 3837 total physical memory, with 2563 cashed and less than 10 free :\
So I would really appreciate some explanation on the finer points of task manager, what it all means, and if any of those points i mentioned can/should be solved
ty ;D
