Hello everyone.

I have tried all the suggested solutions mentioned above but still my task manager and regedit.exe won't display. My msconfig runs ok. The emergency ultility works ok and i didn't find any problems with all the entries in the copies of task manager and registry editor.

Right now, my windows always takes a very long time before shutting down. Please help me. I appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks in advance!

Go to start-accessories-command prompt. Then type gpedit.msc and hit enter key. Then click on the + sign of user configuration. Then again click on + sign of Administrative templates. Then click start menu and task bar. Then find "Lock the Taskbar". Then do a double click and select "Not configured" click ok.

Again find "Run Menu from Start Menu" and do a double click. Select "Not configured" and click ok.
