My system went very slow. I suspected a virus. I replace the HD with anew one. It works fine but then I attached the old Hard disk and it was not recognaized by the system. I removed the old HD but the system went very slow again. Is my RAM became infected by a virus and if so what should I do? I can't run the anti-virus software.

Did you change the jumpers on the old hard drive?

If the old H.D. was the Master drive the jumpers would be set to Master.

With two Hard drives it's best to set them to Master and Slave rather than Cable select.
Then make sure your cables are connected tight to each and not kinked or folded too much.

Also make sure your BIOS is set to Auto detect the drives.
