Comment:

'System Security' mallware has got into my compter, with an icon in the task bar and frequent pop-ups advising me to purchase their software. It even prevents me from opening some programs, including the task manager.

Can you advise how to get rid of this?

Ian

Reply:

1) Install, update database and run full scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Attach malwarebyte full scan log, fix anything detected.

2) Run full Scan with SuperAntispyware : http://www.superantispyware.com/dow... . Fix what it detects and post summary scan log.

If I'm helping you and I don't reply within 24 hours send me a PM.

Use malwarebytes, I recently got rid of a fake antivirus.

Thanks for the advice. In the end I used Safemode and System Restore.
