Hi,
I was wondering if you could tell me.. I am running Windows XP and was wondering if the System restore box should be left "unticked" or "ticked"...
Kind Regards.

If your system does not have a virus, it is best that system restore is checked (turned on). If you ever encounter a virus, disable system restore, get rid of the virus, and turn it back on.

Excuse me, but with respect, that is incorrect information. Please go here and read this:

http://download.nai.com/products/mcafee-avert/SystemHelpDocs/DisableSysRestore.htm

It clearly states that checking the box DISABLES the system restore:

WindowsXP

Disabling the System Restore Utility (Windows XP Users)

1. Right click the My Computer icon on the Desktop and click on Properties.
2. Click on the System Restore tab.
3. Put a check mark next to 'Turn off System Restore on All Drives'.
