Hi there,
I have a problem with my system restore. Everytime I open it i message pops up and says "System restore is unable to protect your computer. Please restart your computer and run system restore again."
I did what it had asked me. Restarted, but the same message pops up and i can't do anything with the system restore.
Any advice or answers to why this doesn't work? Thanks, Alex
The answer to find things lost is to stop looking...

Alex Can only suggest Disabling it completely - ReStart and then Enable again
You will of course lose all previous Checkpoints but if it's not working anyway...
It will make a new Checkpoint when you Re-Enable it
Right Click My Computer - Properties - System Restore Tab
You won't know if that has worked until you need to use it again!
Maybe someone else has a better solution?
Lesley
I'd go with Lesley's suggestion. Disable System Restore, restart, and then reenable it. Soylent Green is PEOPLE!!!
hey,its me,Alex
I have already tried to disable the system restore by going to properties but thesame message,"System restore is unable to protect your computer. Please restart your computer and run system restore again." pops up. so i am unable to disable the system restore or even disable it.
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!The answer to find things lost is to stop looking...
Also you might want to check and see how much harddisk storage you have left , if it's not a lot then system restore will not work if the system restore settings is more than the adequate amount needed for the feature . You can adjust it for less if needed .
Go here #278.

I have checked the hardware storage and i have alot of space, over 20 Gigs... Yet i can't do anything with system restore. I have read the "tweaking" site, and the #278. However i am not sure what to do with it.
Alex23, On Line 278 (left column)you would click on "Restore/Enable System Restore" and download the reg file. Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. Tufenuf
