Hi there. Can I run system restore from command line only safe mode? If so does anyone know the list of options? My computer has a virus which is stopping me from running system restore normally and I know the restore point I want to use is clean ( hence the virus blocking me using it! ) I've tried running system restore in normal safe mode but still the same fate. I get to the final screne, I press next and nothing happens. No matter how long I wait, nothing. I can choose the restore point but I can't get it to reconfig. I have te knowledgebase doc on how to restore the system manually but I cannot find my WINDOWS startup CD. Otherwise I'd do it that way... If I could get a good link for making a BOOTCD, then I'd have a go at that but I'm not able to use the old link I had. Ho Hum. Thanks for any advice Dave.

I am afraid you may be out of luck. If you are unable to use System Restore in Windows due to virus, you will not be able to do it via the command line in Safe Mode. It's all or nothing. i_Xp/VistaUser

Thanks for the posts. Yes, I fear you are right. I've tried in safe mode and in command line mode now using the info above and still nothing. I'm fearing a format but hey, sometimes it's good to start again. If I had a boot CD, I could to it manually, but I cant find mine! Dave.
