I've noticed this is a very common problem here... I tried following your previous steps... downloaded hijackthis yesterday, tried to delete stuff manually, hope I didn't ruin anything... just downloaded SmitFraud... extracted all to desktop... but when I type 1... it just turns off smitfraud. I can get logfiles from hijackthis but not smitfraud. What do I do?

You will nee to turn off Norton's scriptblocking for smitfruadfix to run, or any of the following realtime protection you may have. Temporarily disable any of the following anti-spyware realtime protection programs that you may have Disable Realtime Protection Then turn off Norton's ScriptBlocking: To disable Norton AntiVirus Script Blocking: Start Norton AntiVirus. If Norton AntiVirus is installed as part of Norton SystemWorks or Norton Internet Security, then start that program. Click Options. If you see a menu, click Norton AntiVirus. In the left pane, click Script Blocking. In the right pane, uncheck Enable Script Blocking (recommended). Click OK.
