hi,
is there another way to delete files in the 'symantec virus history'.
i've tried right clicking on the file, clicking 'delete permanently', although it wont allow me. a message pops up telling me the file has been deleted/moved etc....
normally it wouldn't matter to me whats in the history, but i keep getting a virus notification pop up informing me of this virus while on my computer.

any help please....

You mean Symantec is telling you the file has been deleted, but it hasn't? Your post is confusing. What file is it? If you keep getting notified that it's there, then it's NOT being deleted.

Perhaps you need to reboot to complete the cleaning process.

hi,
the file is a song i downloaded from limewire. yes a notification pop up will appear at the top of my screen (when i am on limewire or in my music folder) notifying me i have a virus. my 'quarantine' is clear. i can see this virus in my 'virus history' and when i try to delete it...a message tells me it may have been 'deleted/moved'.
what exactly would i need to do to reboot to complete the cleaning process?
thank you

hi,
i did reboot and i did also find some software that was able to clean and to remove all the items in my virus history.
this virus happened from limewire.
there are 2 files that i downloaded that are corrupt. they will not delete. every time i even go near these files with my cursor a notification box appears telling me a virus has been detected and it will then be displayed in my 'virus history'. sometimes im just in my music folder and this pop up box will appear with the virus notification. when i try to delete it tells me the file is 'write protected' and cannot delete.
although i'm not experiencing any real problems with my system, its very annoying.
any other assistance...
thanks for your time
