I'm using Norton Internet Security 2006 on a Compaq Presario V5000

Norton has been installed for a while and seems to be working fine, but occasionally an error message comes up saying that Symantec Proxy Server has encountered an error and must close. After this I cannot access the internet and the only way I can get back online is to reboot the system.

Can I either fix this problem, or at least restart the proxy server without having to reboot?

thanks
sam

Thanks.

But I don't have Venturi and have already tried reinstalling.

I can't find another answer to your question.
At least the uninstall part works.

Under technical support they have a auto fix tool.

No, the auto-fix tool didn't find a problem.

They have a "Fix it Youself" tool as well, but that got me nowhere.

I can always just restart when it happens, it doesn't happen too often.

Thanks for the advice.
