Hi,
I am having a problem with Sygate. I have lost the Sygate icon from my taskbar by my clock. When I go to Start>Programs>Sygate Personal Firewall>Sygate Personal Firewall, nothing happens.

I have never had a problem with it before. I have not tweaked my computer in the last week at all. No changes no downloads either.(dial up and NO KAZAA software in my system) I have not been to any bad sites or anything of that nature.

I ran a virus scan, ad-aware, online house virus scan and it all come up empty. Did a online scan at Sygate, everything seemed normal.

I installed MSCONFIG (XP) on my 2000 0/S and it states that Sygate boots on start-up. I am perplexed!! Hence, I don't know if is working or not. And where did my icon go???

Any advice???????

Thanks,
Kraig

PS.
In MSCONFIG Services it states that Sygate is stopped. How do I get it running again.

Have you checked if the icon is hidden or if the taskbard was locked accidently? If you cannot open it from programs, I would uninstall Sygate and then reinstall it.

Re-installed Sygate. Working now.
Does anyone know why or how my firewall stopped all together and was deleted from my system tray as well as not being able to access it? Once again, I have not messed with my computer to warrent any errors on my behalf. Just normal day to day work.

Thanks again,
K

Some people have had problems with Sygate not starting including me. Some things that might be a problem:

Having another firewall installed.
Running Diskeeper
Using Eraser
Possibly Norton AV

Uninstall/reinstall usually takes care of it.
