Sygate Personal Firewall Pro seams to be causing lots of problems. First, when it is running most of my downlaods become corrupted. Also when it's running, my computer will restart, freeze, or give me the blue screen of death. What is up with that?

*Please note i don't want suggestions for other firewalls just yet.

Did you have a different firewall prior to installing this one?Completely un-installing a firewall is a little difficult. If you have a registry cleaner, run it and see if there any traces of a former firewall used before you installed this one.The other possiblility is a bad download.I would uninstall Sygate, reboot.Check your registry for any traces (including Sygate).Remove the ones that you are sure of.In jv16 Power Tools there is an installed and uninstalled programs list. Then I would try another download, maybe from a different site.I hope this helps you.JB

I already tried that. Actually, i just re-installed my OS. Even that didn't fix the problem. And no, i never used any other firewalls.

Don't know if this will help But the Free Sygate runs great with XP, but I do not have Sygate Start When Windows Starts I manually start it before I go on Internet, maybe you can change that instruction line not to start and maybe that will help..I love Sygate and think its a great firewall use to use Zone Alarm but had lots of problems with my system restore points disappearing and my call wave answering phone would not be allowed unless I set it to med (the whole security had to be set to med), I did not like that, I like it in the Steath mode except for Call Wave, but one thing I did learn was not to have any firewall start at start up..................Another thing I have xp firewall turned off, you might also try that if you have it going. Good Luck
