For some strange reason Sygate Personal Firewall Pro is causing jerkyness in every 3D-application (games). It's like every second (quite exact) everything on the screen stops for a very short period of time, causing jerky movement.

But this is only when the firewall is loaded, it doesn't matter if I'm connected to the internet or not. Really pain in the ass to be loading/unloading the firewall every time if I'm going to play games. Usually I forget to load it back after gaming and remember it after a while of surfing on the net.

Some games require that you open Sygate and set the security setting to "allow all". It is not just a problem with Sygate, but many software firewalls. If you are really into gaming, I suggest that you get a router that has a hardware firewall built into it. DLink, Linksys, 3Com, SMC, Belkin all are inexpensive and will do the job that you need to protect your system with no performance impact to allow high performance gaming. Take care and all the best!
