Hi there, I am using sygate personal firewall and have it set on automatically check for updates. So far it has done just that and notified me if there was an update, which I then installed. After I update I usually get a warning "sygate has changed since last use and is trying to access the Net... Do you want to allow...". This is ok. However this morning I got that message after going online. The only thing is it has not been updated since I last logged on unless it did it automatically without notifying me. So I disallowed it to access the Net and tried to find out whether Sygate would update itself without me knowing? Does anyone else know this or do I have to worry some other program has altered my firewall? Thanks for any thoughts.

Well said but that is my point: it hasn't done so in the past: It CHECKED for updates but did not autoinstall - it informed. Does it auto-install?

It just notifies you of an update, you manually install it. I believe this is done for your security and safety. Zone Alarm's auto update works the same way.

So how can I check what changed it? Do I have to worry it was changed by some malicious program?
